My Experience Using Nutraganics Handmade Soap | Not Amazing, but Reassuring

In recent years, I’ve realized that most commercial personal care products—like body washes, shampoos, soaps, and so on—contain too many chemical ingredients. It wasn’t until someone in my family was diagnosed with cancer that I truly understood the importance of health. Although we can’t completely avoid chemicals or toxins, I now live by the motto: “Avoid them as much as possible, within what I can control.” So today, I’d like to share my thoughts on a handmade soap I’ve come to like recently—Nutraganics Handmade Soap.

My Review of Nutraganics Handmade Soap

Of course, Nutraganics isn’t the only handmade soap I’ve used. There are many options on the market, and I only discovered this brand recently. After learning that handmade soaps tend to use more natural and healthier ingredients, I began using them. It’s been almost two years now.

The first one I tried was Nutraganics’ Cinnamon Goat’s Milk Soap, which is 100% handmade. What caught my attention was its moisturizing benefits and its supposed anti-aging properties. That said, don’t expect miracles in terms of anti-aging—after all, it’s just soap, and any visible results may only come after long-term use.

What I care more about is its moisturizing ability. After using it, my skin doesn’t feel dry at all, and to me, that’s more important. The soap contains small granules—I’m not sure what their specific purpose is, but maybe they work as a gentle exfoliant. I’ve tried other soaps with granules before, and they felt quite rough and uncomfortable. But the ones in Nutraganics’ soap don’t bother me at all so far.

Why I Prefer Natural Handmade Soaps

I’m someone who washes my hands frequently—even though I work from home. I wash after prepping food, doing chores, returning from outside, and using the bathroom. Just cleaning raw chicken could have me washing my hands 5–6 times. So if I’m not using a natural handmade soap, I feel uneasy.

There was a time when I ran out of soap and had to quickly grab a big-brand bar from the convenience store. After just a few washes, I noticed it really dried out my skin, leaving it feeling prickly and tight. Also, commercial soaps are often overly fragranced. Most artificial fragrances contain phthalates, which are potential carcinogens. I used to love strong scents, thinking they were relaxing, but now that I know better, I try to avoid them.

What Scents Does Nutraganics Offer?

The first soap I got was the Cinnamon Goat’s Milk Soap. Honestly, I didn’t love the scent—it wasn’t awful, just not my favorite. If you’re not a fan of cinnamon, I recommend trying a different scent.

I also tried the Green Tea Goat’s Milk Soap, which had a pleasant scent. But the surprise favorite came from a free sample included in my order—a small piece of Kaffir Lime Soap. It smelled so fresh and uplifting that I regretted not choosing it during my second purchase. No worries—next time, it’s going in my cart!

The Benefits of Natural Handmade Soaps

To be fair, natural handmade soaps are more expensive than typical commercial ones. So why do I, someone on a budget, still choose to buy them? Simple—it’s because of the natural and healthy ingredients. For example, Nutraganics handmade soaps are:

  • Made from natural and organic ingredients
  • Free from SLS and parabens (which can cause dryness, itching, and skin irritation)
  • Free from artificial fragrances (some of which are carcinogenic)
  • Strong enough to cleanse but gentle enough to prevent dryness
  • Formulated with different ingredients to meet various skin needs—like eczema, anti-aging, sensitivity, dark spots, acne, and skin repair

Comparing It to Other Handmade Soaps

One thing worth mentioning—though it may seem trivial—is how this soap behaves differently when stored.

With other handmade soaps I’ve used, I had to pour water out of the soap dish every day or two, even though I always shake off excess water after each use. I assume those soaps absorb and retain water more easily.

But with Nutraganics’ Cinnamon Goat’s Milk Soap, I’ve barely had to drain the soap dish. Here’s a picture of the soap after many uses, and I haven’t needed to empty any water (or maybe only once or twice). That doesn’t mean the soap is dry though—when I add water and lather it, there’s still a gentle foam. Of course, don’t expect the same bubbly effect as commercial soaps; this is natural, after all.

Final Thoughts

So far, I’m pretty satisfied with Nutraganics handmade soap. I hope the brand continues to stay committed to using the most natural ingredients possible. As a small customer, I feel more reassured and willing to keep supporting them.
